The orange wash was another element I didn't catch, but I can see where it's giving that nice depth of colour to the figures now.

I'm tied up with an Ork project just now, but I'll have another crack at my own version of your work here after that. Great stuff!Idstonehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14707565737636455967noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2662989117257716967.post-30309972477561679432014-01-13T09:41:03.942+01:002014-01-13T09:41:03.942+01:00Thanks Idstone (sorry for late reply - been out of...Thanks Idstone (sorry for late reply - been out of the hobby for a while).

The paint job was quite experimental and can't recollect exactly what I did. Something along these line are probably not too far from the truth though:

1) Black base coat
2) Next coat was silver, red and black. I used the mini as a palette mixing the colors into different shades directly on the mini while the paint was still wet.
3) Super heavy washes - Think I used orange (not sure)
4) Used a sponge do dab on color (black and silver)
5) Some washes again
6) Highlights
7) Used Pigment powder and pigment fixer
8) Final highlights

Cheers/HansDon Hanshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10746248229177370886noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2662989117257716967.post-48045535384754655822013-12-02T12:25:21.175+01:002013-12-02T12:25:21.175+01:00Just saw these while browsing - love the look of t...Just saw these while browsing - love the look of the renegades. So dark and evil, they really look like they've spent the last millenium in a spacehulk waiting for revenge....
I'm painting these very minis at the moment, very vey inspiring.
