I build up the paint job with many many layers of very diluted paint which I blend/brush into the surrounding areas (one brush only).
/HansDon Hanshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10746248229177370886noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2662989117257716967.post-26997921137334111752013-09-23T17:07:02.847+02:002013-09-23T17:07:02.847+02:00The pain job on the left withers, crest and should...The pain job on the left withers, crest and shoulder of the horse looks great; what technique did you use? Wet blend? Patch inking? It looks great.24_Cigaretteshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14235772450092467367noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2662989117257716967.post-38518764822888507922013-09-23T15:06:43.850+02:002013-09-23T15:06:43.850+02:00Thanks Asslessman!

The rim usually add a good structure to the freehand and acts as a frame. I'll give it a try.

BTW: Think I'll take some pics of the WIP painting with next cavalry and show how I paint my bronze and maybe also skin.

/HansDon Hanshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10746248229177370886noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2662989117257716967.post-84374752473794685282013-09-23T15:02:16.396+02:002013-09-23T15:02:16.396+02:00Thanks Ana! /HansThanks Ana! /HansDon Hanshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10746248229177370886noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2662989117257716967.post-32307586534714461302013-09-23T12:21:01.270+02:002013-09-23T12:21:01.270+02:00I really like the way this one turned. He really looks tormented and evil in nature though in a quiet and calm way compared to what we are used to which is a very good thing imho.
I get what you mean fro the shield, it's kind of hard to "read". I would suggest adding a red rim around to make a contrast with the green behind but this soolution will make the shield stand from the others so it may be a bad idea. Maybe placing it on the pole behind the dwarf could be good too, don't know...

Anyway, this all very good as usual.Asslessmanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09475252828835332056noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2662989117257716967.post-68970789144784651872013-09-23T10:18:55.014+02:002013-09-23T10:18:55.014+02:00So cool.So cool.Ana Polanscakhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00475924332253440189noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2662989117257716967.post-65492473717820339322013-09-22T21:27:06.029+02:002013-09-22T21:27:06.029+02:00Thanks Gareth - this one took a while and now just...Thanks Gareth - this one took a while and now just one to go :)
/HansDon Hanshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10746248229177370886noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2662989117257716967.post-43697547840147007592013-09-22T19:58:38.741+02:002013-09-22T19:58:38.741+02:00I was waiting for you to get this one done.
