Finally finished the build of the Cavalry leader.
Went for a much more Chaos and Nurgle look to it compared to the rest of the unit. The horse is a Skeleton Horse (obviously) with lots of bits added to it. The rider started with a plastic zombie torso, knight legs, great unclean one right arm, plague bearer left arm, a random head and a visor. The exposed spine is from a plastic skeleton horse that I cut up in pieces. The rest is my own sculpt. (The rider is tilting a bit down - the right arm should actually point more directly forward)

Here is a WIP pic of a banner. It will be in the beastman unit or the army banner, we'll see. It's just the wings from the DRAG4 Great Fire Dragon (I only have the wings...luckily).

DeleteBoth look fantastic, but I can't wait to see that completed standard: should be a real centrepiece!
ReplyDeleteThanks Gareth! Painting the standard will be soooo much fun. Just need to finish building it ...

Lookin good, lookin very good!
ReplyDeleteThe pose reminds me of the nurgle chaos champion in one of the ROC books.....they used a khorne champion as the basis for it.
Great stuff Done!
Thanks!
DeleteUsing a Great Unclean One arm is directly stolen from that mini in ROC :)

Awesome conversion! Looking forward to see it painted!

DeleteExceptional conversion work, can't wait to see it paint-slapped!
ReplyDeleteThanks! /Hans
DeleteWonderfully chaotic - I love the contrast between his massive arm and short stump, as well as all the little tiny touches (genestealer hand in place of a hoof?). It will look superb when painted I'm sure!
ReplyDeleteThanks axiom! Oyeah - it's a genestealer hand. The hoof was missing so this worked out quite well. Cool you like the massive arm/stump thing. One of the things I'm most happy with. Worked well in the overall composition.
DeleteThx!/Hans
A great conversion, you do have an eye for posing. The book, chains and such are nice additions too. I'm looking forward to the painted version.
ReplyDeleteThanks Mr Saturday! Must say I'm very please with the composition - worked very consciously with it. I'm all building right now and started with building the army general so might be a while until it gets painted.
