...well at least a small part of it.
This one is based on what I think is a Feudal Cavalry. I replaced the spear with a scythe, swapped the head and a bit of green stuff (or actually Pro-Create, which is seriously good stuff).
For this unit I plan to use a variety of models such as Bretonnian, Temple dogs and Melnibonean Cavalry. I considered using the BIG citadel horses as well but the smaller other horses would look silly so will save them for something else.

That's all for now /Hans
very cool....love your conversions and "shatter" design shields.
ReplyDeleteThanks Blue /Hans
DeleteWOw, you've just proven that sometimes a conversion just doesn't need much. The weapon swap and this disturing head immediately make this knight chaotic as well (even more I would say)
ReplyDeleteThe "art deco" shield back is really helpuing this way too.
That's some very effective work here.
Thanks Asslessman. I think it is pretty cool to keep chaos conversion quite human in appearance getting a look as they are new followers of the dark gods. /Hans
DeleteVery nice conversion. The back of your shield has more detail than most of my fronts.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sean! I really enjoy painting shields at the moment so I can't stop myself. If it wouldn't look silly every mini would have at least 2 shields... /Hans
DeleteWell this is clearly a challenge up to your level. Two shields is obviously ridiculous, 3 or more on another hand could be perfect, I remember a chaos cultist used for mordheim and converted by Aly Morrison whith a complete armour made of shields, that can be done and you must do it.
DeleteI remember that conversion it was awesome! From memory that was the same issue that had the scernario with the Wooden Man?
DeleteLOL - That sound like a fun project. Do you have any pic of it or know where it was published? Searched for it but didn't found anything except this warband also by Aly: http://www.sodemons.com/rhmordheim/handoffate/index.htm

That's the thing, the mini we're talking about is the third from left on the bottom row (first picture). The article explains how he wanted to achive a wooden armour and used severall shield pieces.
DeleteOK - I can see it now. I had another image in my head so didn't see it. Thx/Hans
DeleteDon this is awesome yet again.
ReplyDeleteWhats colours were used form the dark bronze metal?
Thanks! I don't remember exactly but something like this:
Delete1) Base of mix of black and bronze (this is a always a good start I think)
2) Washed with Orange and then Black wash
3) Did various shading/highlights with different mixes of black, bronze and green
4) Wasn't pleased with the result so did a few black glazes
5) Realized I spent too much time and stopped :)
/Hans
Fantastic work and the shield, as always, sets it apart as something really special.
ReplyDeleteCan't remember whether I've raved about your basing before - but it also is superb!
Thank you very much Thantsant! You might have but please feel very free to rave all you like ... :)
