The cavalry unit has increased in size with 100% - two riders!!!
The latest one is a Feudal Cavalry horse with a Melnibonean Cavalry rider. Seems very appropriate with Melnibonean as they were the original Chaos worshippers.
Jeez, that menilbonean is ace ! The bronze to black amrour suits very good. It gives both the noble aura which fits menilbonean and the dark aspect of a chaos worshipper. That with the caparisoned horse => WIN If you don't mind in the future, I'm very much intersted in your recipe for that brilliant metal on the armour and lance, I guess a lot of washes are implied but I'd love to hear it? it's just excellent. The glowing eyes add just the right contrast with the horse skin.
Thank you very much. I wished I had more caparisoned horses but this is the only one. I have quite a few undead once though which will be painted soon.
I'll see if I can take some pics next time I do a bronze armor. I do it a bit different each time but this is a quick guide for now how I did it on the melnibonean: 1) Base of black and bronze 2) Thinned out wash of black wash 3) Highlighing with black and more and more bronze until pure bronze 4) Painting in more shadows with very diluted black (not wash) 5) Glazing with red glaze (I use the new GW once which are great)
These are truly great. I especially like the new one. Seems very evil and chaotic in very different way that we're used to... Very creative! Love it. More, please! :)
Very original and creative work of art! Like the idea with the pointy helmets very much, esp. with the scythe guy, gives the rider a distinct evil look. Might going to nick this one if you dont mind ;-)

ReplyDeleteThank! Quite like the pointy helmets too. I was afraid they would look too elfish but I think they turned out chaotic in the end.
