Nurgle Army Update: Citadel Minotaur Lord

In a bit of a painting spree at the moment :)

So here's the next addition to my Nurgle army. A Citadel Minotaur Lord. The base includes a Tick from the Citadel C29 Creepy Crawlies series and a Nurgling.

Adding a second little creature to the base is something I do more and more. There is quite a good selection of old Citadel miniatures for this. Especially when painting Chaos. You have a lot of well sculpted little creatures in the C29 Creepy Crawlies series and of course the Chaos Familiars and Nurglings.

Went for another very colorful paint job that I think looks more Tzeentch than Nurgle if one considers the classic take on chaos colors. Something I tend to happily ignore :)

Next up is likely a Nurgle Palanquin I'm working on. Also prepping a Nurgle Plague Cart.

See you soon!

  1. You sure are on a spree. It's awesome, just like all the rest of them. It's always a pleasure to see your unique and skillfully executed painjobs on these classic figures.
And veering away from the usual colours associated with chaos gods is refreshing. We tend to take it for granted that Khorne is red and Nurgle green, but it really shouldn't be something that's set in stone. It's good to be reminded about that every once in a while.

That Nick Bobby minotaur is absolutely brilliant, had a great time painting one last year.

  5. What an impact on a miniature with such a simple conversion. Amazing work. The execution and the paint job really make this quite a special figure.

    2. Just meant using the Doom Bull Skeletal head instead of the AD&D head. 😎

  7. Fantastic as usual, but it's the positioning of the Nurgling that steals the show for me!

Very much a classic. I think especially so after the classic 3 headed conversion with the Mona Lisa banner by Mr Blanch back in the days

  10. Loving him very much, though I am excited to see what a man of your skills does with the infamous Nurgle Palanquin. I am assuming you will be painting up the 1980s version?

  11. Really nice, everybody is coming back to Nurgle in the end. I have yet to finish my Khorne worshippers and the Slaanesh warriors are in the pipeline yet I have already nurglish conversions on my desk again...

  12. I really like the shading and use of colour on your models. I'd have never thought of using orange on the base like that. Great stuff!
