(Or he just had a bath and is hiding his nudity with his favorite towel in front of a flange of Slaanesh baboons paparazzi...)
Well, whatever he is, here he is:

In the same flyer is a drawing of Golgoth Lord of Balrogs (TA1) from the Tony Ackland's Arcane Monstrosities range. This is currenclty being stripped and I'm planning to paint it quite soon...or as soon a the paint comes of (might be a while it seems):

And at last, prepped and primed a few more:
From left to right (all Citadel): C38 Fox Man/Priest, C38 Ostrich Man, Runequest Rult and Runequest Stalker |
Thanks for stopping by! /Hans
Great luminous effect on the eyes. As you say... hypnotic.
ReplyDeleteUnsure about the ostrich-man but the other three look like cracking sculpts.
Thanks Finch!
DeleteYou don't like Mr Ostrich..I wonder why? ... ;) Myself love these bizarre looking creatures.
/Hans
Mantis man looks great. Excellent paint job and just a really nice model too (that I hadn't previously seen!).
ReplyDeleteThx stonecoldlead!
DeleteOyeah - great mini. So much character
/Hans
That's some brilliant color work! Inspiring...
ReplyDeleteThanks Alexander Man! /Hans
DeleteOstrich Man! *claps hands uncontrollably*
ReplyDeleteEncore, encore!
DeleteI love the eyes! I have green eyes too, but not like that!
ReplyDeleteThe cloak is great too, awesome painting all round as usual. :)
Well try some warpstone dust in your tea and I think this can be accomplished
DeleteThanks!/Hans
Always loved the mantis man! Beautiful use of the creepy greens!
ReplyDeleteThanks Mouse!

Wonderful job on the Mantis!
ReplyDeleteThose old beastmen are brilliant, especially Ostrich Man. One of the reasons I love this blog (besides the inspired painting) is that I get to see these old sculpts I didn't even know existed.
Thanks Ana!
DeleteThere something special about Ostrich Man. One thing I like with the really old-school stuff like the C38 Range is that not all look very powerful but just bizarre and stupid.
/Thx
Magnificent mr Hans, as always. I really like the osl on the eyes and the greens on the cloak.
ReplyDeleteI'd say that your painting could be improving.... But we know that's imposssible!
Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI think you are right, it's improving. Partly because I take more care in the painting now compared to when I started the army. And also a lot of continuous painting has helped getting back on track (very sporadic for quite a while before starting this huge project)
/Hans
That ostrich man is really cool. Can imagine some concepts there.
ReplyDeleteThx! /Hans
