First one is a C38 Beastman - The Slugman. It was missing its sword so is got an unholy grail of liquid warpstone. The idea with a grail came from a comment by 24_Cigarettes - Thx Sir!
Next one is a Weretiger from the Citadel Fiend Factory range and is called FF70 Weretiger in Beast Form.
(BTW: I added a few more photos in the previous post of the Giant Beatle and the back of the Goatman.)

Excellent, the liquid in the (un)holy grail seems more than toxic...
ReplyDeleteWould it be the same liquid that turned this motley crew into the mutated bunch of monsters we see? (or have I been watching TMNT too much?)
It is very much the source of of their mutations. Even so, you probably have watched too much TMNT ;)
DeleteThx/Hans
I haven't checked out your blog for months, and boy was I missing something!! A shed load of excellent, excellent painted old school miniatures! Are you sure you are not Fraser Gray is disguise?
ReplyDeleteThanks Orlygg and welcome back :)
DeleteSorry to disappoint you but I'm afraid I'm not (as far as I know) Fraser Gray. Kept myself busy with the Chaos Army and don't think I can stop myself even if I want to.

Slug man looks top notch. The subtle light effect sets the whole model off, great job!
ReplyDeleteThe paws on the were tiger look more like hands which contributes to the overall creepiness of the unit.
Looking forward to the next post!
The idea with the grail come from you. You gave me this idea in one of your comments in an earlier post. Thanks!!
DeleteThe front paws are sculpted like hand. It's a quite small detail but the most subtle thing is sometime what is needed!

They're all great, but my favorite is the were-tiger. Hands down.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sean! I agree. Really happy with the Weretiger. Especially the stripes which I faded into the back of it.

Fantastic as usual. :)
ReplyDeleteIf I was to pick a favorite, which is hard to just pick one, I would say the Giant Snail.
However I do like the Slugman. The painting effect reminds me of those little rubber bouncy balls you used to get as a child, with that blended/melted range of colours.
Excellent work :)
Thanks Lee!
DeleteYou are right! It's a bit like those old bouncy balls :)
Interestingly the Slugman started out light grey. Took a while before I felt I was on track with the colors on that one.
Happy you like the Giant Snail - I think it's one of my best paintjobs. This one was also a struggle (fun one though). It's somethings about snails I think. It was difficult with that much colors to make them work togther and at one point It was very close to go into the stripping jar...

Delicious. It's turning into a superb unit.
ReplyDeleteThanks Mr Saturday.
DeleteThe thing I like with it is that it's quite diverse. I will add more various beats and also various demons. Probably also two Beastmen riders. Not sure how I will go about with the rules. Might just treat them all as Beastmen for simplicity or use this unit as a warband as part of the army.
/Hans
I think that would work fine, it's the same as using fillers really.
DeleteExcellent again! I really love your chaos colors. Scary looking unit. Would go perfectly also as an encounter in Rune Quest :)
ReplyDeleteThanks! Well - will at least add some Runequest Broos/Beastmen/Creatures to the unit :)
