Nurgle Warband Update: Cavalry nr. 4

This time a combination of an Undead Cavalry horse and a solid base C33 Mounted Adventurer Rider (the Rogue). If you look at my previous post you'll notice I just switched the rider and horse between these two sets.

The rider and horse are complete standard with the exception of the Rider's claw. The positioning of this hands made it impossible to add a weapon and I didn't wan't do afflict any damage on the mini as I really like it. So I just added a claw. Not the best conversion ever but I think it did the job.

Really happy with the look on this one and it's one of my favorites in the warband/army so far. Hope you like it too.

Thanks for stopping by and let me know what you think.

Nurgle Warband Update: Cavalry nr. 3

A new addition to the cavalry unit.

This time a combination of an Undead Cavalry rider and a solid base C33 Mounted Adventurer horse (the Rogue). I kept the Rogue rider and will put him on a Skeleton horse.

I tried a new approach to painting the skeleton and must say I'm quite happy with the result.

Nurgle Warband Update: Cavalry

The cavalry unit has increased in size with 100% - two riders!!!

The latest one is a Feudal Cavalry horse with a Melnibonean Cavalry rider. Seems very appropriate with Melnibonean as they were the original Chaos worshippers.

Here with his brother in arms.

Nurgle Warband Update: Sorcerer on Lizard Steed

The Sorcerer is based on an old Undead Cavalry with some added bitz and conversion. The mini was in terrible shape as it was a massive mis-cast. The rider e.g had no legs and the cloak was also missing parts and the horse was missing one leg. So part from bitz, quite a lot of green-stuff was needed.

Hope you like him.

Nurgle Warband Update: Chaos Dwarf Standard Bearer

Finally the Chaos Dwarf Standard Bearer is finished. It has been standing on my desk for quite some time with very little left to complete.

It is based on Ekalim The Mad and using him as a standard bearer is inspired from the Nurgle Warband in WD 124. The Standard is from two bitz from the Plastic Chaos Spawn kit, a lot of Pro-create, a few shields and a Manowar mast. Put a bit a extra effort into the painting as well and especially pleased with the face and cloak.

Here he is with is fellow evil stunties:

By the way: As a leader for this unit I will use The Master Of Madness from the Chaos Dwarf Renegades. He is though currently covered in a very thick coat of enamel paint and will need some TLC.

Nurgle Warband Update: The Cavalry has arrived...

...well at least a small part of it.

This one is based on what I think is a Feudal Cavalry. I replaced the spear with a scythe, swapped the head and a bit of green stuff (or actually Pro-Create, which is seriously good stuff).

For this unit I plan to use a variety of models such as Bretonnian, Temple dogs and Melnibonean Cavalry. I considered using the BIG citadel horses as well but the smaller other horses would look silly so will save them for something else.

Nurgle Warband Update: WIP - Mounted Sorcerer & Warrior

This is what I'm working on at the moment. As it involved a bit of modelling I thought it would be fun to share WIP pics (should probably have done this before the base coat). Nevermind - Hope you like 'em.

First is a Sorcerer that is based on a Undead Cavalry. The horse is the Lizard skin one and I find it very suitable for Nurgle. The mini was in terrible shape as it was a massive mis-cast. The rider e.g had no legs and the cloak was also missing parts and the horse was missing one leg. So part from bitz, quite a lot of greenstuff was needed.

My favorite bit is the right front leg on the horse. Made from a plastic Tyranid arm (Advanced Space Crusade era). The Nurgling on the horses back is a tribute to the Nurgle Warband in WD 124.

BTW: Here is the original model: http://www.solegends.com/citcat19912/c20307skelcav-00.htm. It's Sythe 2 and Lizard Flesh horse I used.

Next is a mounted warrior/marauder/thug. A more straight forward conversion. It's based on what I think is a Feudal Cavalry. Replacing the spear with a scythe, swapping the head and a bit of greenstuff and Bob's your uncle...

Nurgle Warband Update: A Chaos Warrior

One of my favorite Chaos Warriors just joined the clan. A very simple but great mini.

Nurgle Warband Update: Two more

Okely dokely. Two more chaos worshipers finished. A Marauder and a Thug. I don't think any of them very given names by Citadel.

The Thug has more of a  Slaanesh feel than Nurgle to it but. It's a great sculpt though so couldn't resist painting it. Talking about Slaanesh, I guess the Marauder got a quite Slaanesh paint job. He is very pretty in pink though :)

Quite happy with the shield. I managed to paint it without any corrections so the paint job become very smooth.

I added some new bitz to the base on the Thug. Included some zombie parts - head and hand.

I'm still calling it a warband even though I'm going for an army now. The project feel a lot less overwhelming that way...

By the way, I updated the photos of my Slaanesh Champion as the previous were quite bad: http://realmofcitadel.blogspot.se/2013/05/slaanesh-warband-champion.html
