Nurgle Warband Update: Chaos Dwarf Standard Bearer

Finally the Chaos Dwarf Standard Bearer is finished. It has been standing on my desk for quite some time with very little left to complete.

It is based on Ekalim The Mad and using him as a standard bearer is inspired from the Nurgle Warband in WD 124. The Standard is from two bitz from the Plastic Chaos Spawn kit, a lot of Pro-create, a few shields and a Manowar mast. Put a bit a extra effort into the painting as well and especially pleased with the face and cloak.

Here he is with is fellow evil stunties:

Nurgle Warband: Chaos Dwarfs

By the way: As a leader for this unit I will use The Master Of Madness from the Chaos Dwarf Renegades. He is though currently covered in a very thick coat of enamel paint and will need some TLC.

And a few closeups:

  1. Love the organic look of the pole.

But Hans my friend, be careful, with your 360° photos, you're stepping on GW's field here !
I'm joking, it's very funny because when you click and scroll you can actually make it move like GW's 360 views.

    Very good overlall look.

    1. Thanks! I'm expecting an angry letter from GW's lawyers demanding my beheading. It's totally worth it though. /Hans

  2. Great model, and an even greater standard conversion! Also, that unit looks outstanding all together. Full of chaotic menace!

  4. Amazing stuff again... The unit looks just evil. Ekalim The Mad is also great. I like the rotten paint style on it, and the art on the shields. Great job!

    1. Thanks Sean. Yes - multiple shields. Next step must be to use 3 shield directly on one mine...might need to add a few arms as well...

    1. Thanks. It starting to look quite decent. I'll need a unit leader an might paint a few more of my favorites dwarfs as well. Think I'll use the dwarf adventures samurai as a chaos dwarf. /Hans

  9. And who says Chaos can't be cohesive!

I am still looking for a way to incorporate your base style...need an excuse...I might be able to change the tones and have it for wood elves making it more like fallen temples or such?

    1. Cool that you might make a go at my style for these bases. Let me know if you want some more detailed info. Yes - any colors would of course work. For a fallen temple though I would probably go with a debris style instead. But on the other hand - anything goes.
      Thx/Hans

    2. Yes that makes sense I was thinking of some spiral freehand on larger pieces.

      Time for a test piece!
