Nurgle Warband Update: Two Marauders and a Bazooka

Next addition to my warband are two marauders and a chaos dwarf bazooka.

I tried a new approach to the armor of the marauders and going gold-green. Think it looks good on the marauder in full armor (Kraan Headcleaver). Not sure about the color combination on the one with bare legs though (Lunkop Banesmite). But hey - it's chaos and anything goes.

Kraan Headcleaver is the metal-man from the previous post/tutorial - now with a few tufts and a shield as well. A funny thing painting him was that the first color out after base coat was painting it all gold. He very much looked like a fantasy C3PO. I almost kept it like that.

The warband is getting quite big now and as Gaj suggested in a previous post I might be working my way toward an army (even if I don't know it - LOL). I think he on to something and I am considering going army style. I am thinking though to paint a unit of Oriental heros / Samurais / Ninjas as well.....we'll see.

Thanks for watching! /Hans

  1. On the first post about them I was about to ask if you used this old unpaintable mettalic green from the second paint series, but you've just given the answer.
I do have Lunkop Banesmite and do intend to paint him in a tzeentch outfit (still don't know how though) but I think the purple/green contrats works well and makes the mini easy to read. This worn out mettalic green works realy well to give a fantsy feeling. I'm just looking at a John Blanche Drawing reading your post.

  2. I do have the old metallic paint set but haven't used it in a long time. I bought them when they were released and pained a few minis using all the different metallic paints. They look quite amusing...

The colors I used was Auric Armor Gold, Kabalite green (from the new Citadel range) and a bit of black. I used pure orange as edge highlight to take away a bit of the shine from the gold.

    Thx/Hans

    1. Hence the worn-out look of your gold... very clever

  5. Very impressive!
I think your Chaos army will be very nice to see on the gaming table.
The green looks great on armor and feels very "nurglish" :)
    Keep up the good work!

    1. Thanks! And I hope it will make it to the gaming table. I don't really have the habit of painting armies but I think this one will make it. /Hans
